Educational Adventures

Learning about history in school can sometimes be a little dull since textbooks on the subject are often dry and uninspiring.  There are, however, methods of presenting history to children and adults alike that make studying the past exciting and fascinating. 

Animated, interactive, Web-based movies are one of the most engaging means of teaching people about any period in world history.  Safe Passage, the movie Total Media Source created for CET and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, is a good example of interactive animation that engages viewers in an entertaining yet informative manner.

The purpose of Safe Passage is to take school children on a virtual journeyinto the historical era of the Underground Railroad.  Because the movie is interactive, viewers get to make choices about the information they will see at any given point.  The movie provides interesting, thought-provoking history lessons, regardless of which choice they make.

Printed support materials accompany the movie and are used in the classroom as additional learning aids.
